What’s in a Mandap ?
Typically, a Mandap is a covered platform inside which the main ceremony of a Hindu wedding takes place. This is usually in the form of a stage with pillars and hosts the fire ceremony and pheras for the couple. Guests face this structure during the ceremony so it can be noted that it will be the main decor structure in any Hindu wedding.
What styles and themes must be followed for Mandap decor ?
Traditionally, mandaps resembled temples because these ceremonies were held in temples to begin with.
Therefore, most traditional mandaps follow this design so that they can replicate the look and form of a temple.
However, if you want to go the modern route – there are so many options available today from acrylic frames, wooden frames to abstract designs.
What to keep in mind when selecting a style of Mandap decor ?
When deciding on decor themes, there are a couple of factors to keep in mind. Roughly, we would have to consider this :
